ohiohubOver the last several months, GalionLive! has featured stories from newspapers discussing the 3C rail corridor in general, and the question of the north central Ohio station location in specific. Signs point to late August for the release of the Amtrak-commissioned study that will answer many of the questions associated with the new passenger rail system…including, possibly, the issue of station location. We have shared recent newspaper articles that discuss the efforts of the City of Galion to promote the city for that spot.

In the meantime, the state is moving ahead in earnest with introducing Ohioans to the concept of passenger rail – and just today unveiled the new 3C Rail website on the State of Ohio website system with the name, “3C is Me!” Click here to access.

At this stage, the site is hardly full of information – it consists primarily of a short, minute-long video introduction to the concept and a just a “dose” of information. It does connect, however, to the site of the Ohio Hub Plan – which lays out a much more involved picture of the project. By clicking on “Project Overview,” it is possible to access the detailed initial study that was done several years ago, several graphic project descriptions are also available under “Maps.”

Whatever the decision concerning station location, it is likely that Galion will be uniquely impacted by the 3C rail corridor. GalionLive! will continue to bring you the latest news on this project as it is available.

Great job! GalionLive continues to stay on top of stories of local interest and it doesn’t cost anybody anything to gain any of this information! That’s more than can be said for the other source of news in this town.

Competition, naturally, is a good thing! It helps to keep everyone honest.
