The Galion Community Theatre’s Crossing Delancey opens this Saturday night for a two-week run.
Crossing Delancey is a play by Susan Sandler which has been described as follows… “When a contemporary woman with high ideals of love and life is fixed up by a marriage broker, her match is not at all what she desires… Crossing Delancey is a charming comedy about new world clashing with old world traditions. It’s a timeless tale of a woman struggling to find happiness and independence… her way.” It is also noteworthy for its concentration on food – from blintzes to pickles.
Locally, this comedic struggle is portrayed by a cast which includes Candy Boyd as Izzy, Sandra Hoffer as her grandmother “Bubbie,” Phil Brown as writer Tyler Moss, Beth Sinden as Hannah the marriage broker, and Kit Walter as pickleman Sam Posner.
Crossing Delancey will be performed on Friday, February 26; Saturday, February 27; Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets may be ordered 10 days prior to the performance by calling 419-468-2662. Please leave your name, phone number, the number of tickets needed and the date of the performance you wish to attend.
