GalionLive received the following press release and accompanying photo today from the Galion Police Department. As we say often on this site, “hat’s off” to the Department and to the Special Investigations Unit for their work:

On Monday 08/30/10 the Galion Police Department Special Investigations Unit arrested Jason Wade, 320 West Church Street, Galion OH after receiving a tip that Wade was selling drugs in the parking lot of a local business. Detectives set up on the business and watched Wade allegedly sell drugs to an individual. Detectives recovered suspected heroin, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, syringes and cash.

When confronted by Detectives, Wade attempted to throw the suspected heroin into a bush. Wade is currently being held at the Crawford County Jail pending charges.

If anyone has information about drug activity or other illegal activity, please contact the Galion Police Department at 419-468-9111 or the TIPS line at 419-468-3480.

THEY WILL LET HIM GO HE WILL BE BACK IN BUSINESS IN 30 DAYS SOMEWHERE ELSE,REMEMBER ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN CRAWFORD COUNTY,THEY CAN NOT AFFORD TO FEED HIM FOR A PETTY CRIME LIKE THAT.

Russ, were not talking marijuana here. These are felony charges, he’s going to the pokey for a while.

Galion sounds and looks more and more like Pottersville from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, after Jimmy Stewart comes back to see his hometown with Clarence. Jimmy Stewart doesn’t even recognize the town anymore.

They have caught this particular guy two or three times already and he is always back on the streets within a few months. Galion drug enforcment is a joke, they never actually get anything that will stick with the guys that are the true villians.

If they keep lettin this clown go it’ll be a matter of time before they start finding stiffs with the needle still in their arms or some child will end up with hep or aids cause they stepped on a syringe. He needs to go to the Pen for a few yrs.I live in Dayton(former Galionite)and I saw that G town is right up there with Dayton for OD deaths!! Dayton is #1 in the state but I forget where Galion is.But it’s up there,Jeez!!What’s happened to my little hometown? I have lost 3 very close friends from there and all are attributed to drug usage.Sad,very sad indeed.

It’s sad to see that this stuff is happening in my old hometown. It’s the same in most other cities in America, sad to say, but I guess I’d prefer to think that Galion is just better than that.
