Photos and More Photos

GalionLive’s new “Galion on Facebook” page is almost always a great read – but over the last week, it’s also been a veritable delight for the eyes.
“Galion on Facebook” is the newest part of GalionLive. The page features the latest updates from the Facebook Pages of over 40 Galion-based businesses, organizations, groups and churches, and brings them together into an easy to read and follow format. Clicking on the title/link of any entry will take you directly to the Facebook Page, where you can then read the full entries, view photos, etc. – even if you are not registered on Facebook.
In a way, it’s like the scroll on the local cablevision – except larger. The site is also automated, so that updates can occur 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and what you see at 5:00 p.m. may well change by that evening. All former posts are archived, however, so you’ll always be able to find what you need. The result is not only what is becoming a “must-see” in order to keep in touch with local information, but is also a fascinating look at the community in which we live.
Over the last seven days, however, it’s been even more. Included in that short period of time are links to no less than 1,260 photographs! Yes, that’s right — 1,260!
In large part, this is due to wonderful photos posted by members of the Galion Free Methodist Church, showcasing summer mission trips taken by church members here in Ohio and as far away as Taiwan. There’s more to see, however, including photographs posted by Child Care Choices, the Varsity Grille, Rock Solid Media, Uptowne Outfitters, the GHS Class of 1949 and the Crawford County Teen Institute – and a video posted by the City of Galion Health Department to boot!
On the site, you are likely to see photos of people you know – but you may well see them in some interesting places and situations. The easiest way to reach “Galion on Facebook” is to visit GalionLive at: community.galionlive.com and clicking on the “Facebook” link in the top menu – or you can also reach the site at: galionlive.tumblr.com.
Please also be aware that meeting notices, event information, etc. can also be placed directly onto “Galion on Facebook” by GalionLive, as well as advertisements by local businesses. In fact, we’re currently seeking a sponsor for this page. For more information, drop us a line at: galionlive@gmail.com.
