    Small Class, Huge Success

The annual Community Baccalaureate for graduating Galion High School seniors was held last night, with approximately 40 members of the Class of 2011 honored in a religious ceremony held in the cafetorium.

Music was provided by pianists Lydia Ekin, Kaleb Plummer and Zane Ekin, as well as the Senior Ensemble directed by GHS Vocal Director Rick Walker.

The meditation for the evening was shared by Pastor Joel Sanchez, who based his remarks on the Biblical account of David and Goliath. Each element of the story was discussed with its applicability to the future of graduating seniors. Other speakers included GHS Faculty member Nancy Green, and student speakers Kyle Karnes and Bethanie Schaffner.

Funds obtained from event sponsors made it possible for each senior to receive a new Bible.

The proposal was prepared and presented by District Treasurer Linda Kidwell, who explained several of the line items contained in the document. The Forecast included the financial impact of the reductions in force approved at the last Board meeting, as well as the latest funding estimates received from Columbus.
