Saving the Courthouse Fountains

GalionLive! has learned of a situation in Bucyrus concerning the fate of the fountains in front of the Crawford County Courthouse. Apparently, one of the two fountains was completely removed, and the other was in the process of removal, when the County Commissioners were contacted by representatives from the Bucyrus Preservation Society. The following news release was received today from that organization:
“The Bucyrus Preservation Society has been given permission by the Crawford County Commissioners to manage the restoration of the remaining courthouse fountain and castings. The fountains and elaborate castings are thought to be over 100 years old and an integral component of the Courthouse restoration in 1908.
