Rose May Be Poised to Rejoin Galion Schools

A familiar name to those in the Galion City School District may soon be making a return to the system – albeit in a different capacity.
Former Galion Superintendent Dennis Rose filed petitions recently with the Crawford County Board of Elections for a seat on the Galion Board of Education.
When this afternoon’s 4:00 p.m. deadline for filing petitions for public office for the November election came and went, his was one of four individuals who filed for those Board positions. The deadline for candidate registration for the November 2009 election has now passed, and apparently the recent public outcry concerning the possible increase in utility rates has contributed to the largest number of candidates running for Galion City Council in recent memory. A full slate will also be presented to voters in the Galion City School District.
