Heise Park was bustling on Sunday, July 5 with a day-long series of events commemorating America’s 233rd birthday. At 4:00 p.m., a group of military and civilian reenactors established an encampment at the log cabin, demonstrating clothing, gear and cooking. At 7:00 p.m., music began at the Heise Park bandshell behind the Center-Y – with the Galion Alumni Band performing at 8:00 p.m.. The Alumni Band was joined by members of the current GHS Band, as well as visitors from other communities.
