    Did you miss us?

    As you may know, our national server had issues last week, and we were required to re-boot our site. We re-directed the site to a temporary location over the last few days and continued to bring you the latest in Galion-area news and information. Instead of just re-launching the original site, however, we decided to take the opportunity to do something new, exciting, and completely “out of the box.” Welcome to the bright, new, and colorful version of GalionLive!

    Health Department Launches Facebook Page

    gchdThe Galion City Health Department recently launched an informational drive for the community, including through the use of online social media.

    The primary mechanism for this effort is the department’s new Facebook Page. The page shares the departmental mission and vision – “Promote and Protect the Health and Well-Being of the Communities We Serve,” and “To Inspire and Engage our Citizens and Community to by Optimally Healthy.” On a regular basis, the Health Department issues notices and news items, which are then automatically transmitted to the page’s “fans.” Recent posts on the page include photos from a recent strategic planning retreat, information about immunizations, a look at upcoming changes in Ohio law concerning child safety, and details about services provided by the department.
