    Galion’s Clothier Celebrates An Anniversary

On Wednesday afternoon, sunny skies streamed into the windows of a very unique place in Uptowne Galion. As he began, Galion’s very own haberdasher leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms, thinking back over the changes that have occurred in his store — and in Uptowne Galion — since Uptowne Outfitters opened in 2006.

“When we began, we had projections, but no one knew that 2008 would be that bad,” Brian Treisch shared with GalionLive, “and we really didn’t start to recover that level until this year.” He noted that this was an experience similar to those of other Uptowne Galion merchants.

    by  • January 22, 2012 • Life in Galion • 0 Comments

How long has it been since you have heard Galion described as “gorgeous?”

Some years ago, this collection of Galion photographs was posted on UrbanOhio, likely the busiest place online for discussion of Ohio cities, urban issues, architecture, and community development.

Entitled “An Evening Walk Through Uptowne Galion,” these images reflect our community on a single summer evening some years ago. Each is accompanied by a short narrative.

For anyone who might wonder how our community can seem to those from the outside, the unsolicited reader comments following the photos provide some food for thought.
